Publicity and Publications Committee Report

Chris Branam had to reformat his hard drive, and will be catching up with the Sept. & Oct. newsletters. Chris and John Corliss spoke and will keep the "Pres Says" in the Newsletter. Contributions to the newsletter are always needed. An excellent way to do that is by emailing him directly, or by posting stories to the Knowledge Forum on the website. Thank you Chris.

-Roy Olson agreed to continue as the club Safety Officer.

OLD BUSINESS

1.    A report was given by Dave Teich on the AURORA PARADE Sept 15th. It was a perfect day, a huge success, and a kick. Thanks Dave, Marv and Mario for all your work!

2. WORK PARTY. There was a work party on September 22. Many showed.

3. PATCHES. The Board has authorized distribution of one patch to each 2002 member, since the patches have been changed to read Aurora instead of Denver.

NEW BUSINESS

  1. LIBRARY George Kerr has the club library up and running and the Club agreed to put it on wheels and bring it to the meetings as a traveling library.
  2. MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS. By Laws, Safety Rules, Roster, Gate Combo will be mailed by October 31st.
  3. Mario Accardi has donated countless hours on field maintenance. Linda, his wife is very sick and they need our thoughts, prayers and support.

SPEAKER

Bill Swanson showed us a beautiful Blue Angel F-14 Trainer/Sport plane, which he is selling for $225. Awesome decaling & condition. Excellent flyer. Plane and new O.S. 46fx with break-in flights. Just needs radio. Beautiful plane.

PREZ SEZ

On behalf of the entire club, I’d like to thank last year’s officers and board members for doing an incredible job. As I am new to the sport of aero-modeling, they have made the transition for the new officers seamless. I’d like to especially thank our new VP Larry Symons, and Treasurer Marv Sanders who have spent a great deal of time keeping our roster up-to-date. Chris Branam, our newsletter editor, and George Kerr, our web master, have been doing a fantastic job as well. I spent some time recently surfing the web for other r/c clubs, inside and out of Colorado. I must say www.milehirc.com is one of the best and the website consistently gets 15 to 20 unique visits every day. In case you were unaware, there is a Knowledge Forum on our website that I’d like to see get more use. There, you can post crash reports, ask questions, or post a story or experience you’ve had with the hobby. There is also a buy-sell-trade area of the website. Please use them during the year.

In flying, remember the words in a letter sent by Wilbur Wright to his father, September 1900. "I have learned that carelessness and overconfidence are usually far more dangerous than deliberately accepted risks."

Thank you for your trust, confidence and support for the 2001-2002 flying season. If you have any comments or suggestions for the upcoming year, please let me know.

A whole lot of Nothing

With the cooler weather setting in, the heli acting up and the new plane still on the workbench and packing to move, I haven’t been out to the field so I haven’t heard of much going on.

Editor’s Note

I you have submissions for Wing Tips, Propwash from the Field, or the classifieds please submit your articles either via hand or email. My email address is: sixty8kr@qwest.net . The deadline for submissions is 1 week following the meeting.
