o It was moved and seconded to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Membership

Membership Chairman Larry Symons reported the membership stands at approximately 120.

Publicity and Publications Committee Report

John Corliss reported that the club bought three new flight simulators for $50 each, which are compatible with Windows ’95,’98, or ME. Additionally the club purchased the updated software for $50, for the Dave Brown simulator that Dave Teich donated at the January meeting. The Club budgeted $200 for flight simulators and for that we now have four flight simulators with controllers that may be checked out to club members at meetings. George Kerr reports that all of the flight simulators were checked out. John Corliss said that these simulators are very realistic and will not only help new flyers with their coordination, but intermediate flyers who will want to practice aerobatics.

Contest Committee

No report this month.

Field Maintenance Committee

Roy Olson reported that the 85 mile per hour winds we had tore the radio impound in half. We were lucky to have no damage to the picnic shelters or shed. Securing and bracing the picnic area roofs proved to be timely last fall. Cost of materials to repair the impound was estimated at $145. The expense was approved. (Thanks to Jim Rogers, Mike Wilson, Larry Symons, Robert Mueller, Bob Bergin and Roy Olson who repaired the impound the following Saturday)!

Field Safety Committee

No report this month other than to be careful and think.

NEW BUSINESS

1. It was brought up again that we should be thinking about forming a ground crew and a more organized training program for when we get busy this spring. The Blue Max R/C club has an excellent program and it was suggested that members visit their website at www.bluemaxrc.com.

2. The Field lease renewal and a potential property tax bill were discussed. We were informed by the Lessor (Board of Land Commissioners), that we may be required to pay property taxes on the land due to the implementation of Colorado Revised Statute 36-1-120.5.

3. Larry Ott and Marvin Sanders brought in their Edges 540T 60/90 Aeroworks planes. A number of members bought this 3D plane and it was good to see how others were setting them up. Reports are that it flies like a dream.

4. John Corliss asked members if they were interested in buying fuel in bulk. It was decided that the cost savings would not be worth the hassle.

5. We are in need of a new Newsletter Editor. Chris Branam has been doing an incredible job for the past two years. No one volunteered at the meeting. Chris agreed to continue as Newsletter Editor until a replacement can be found. If you are interested, please contact John Corliss or Chris Branam!!!

6. The Miniature Aero Sportsters are putting on their 5th Annual Swap and Shop on Saturday March 2nd. Adams County Fairgrounds – Al Lesser Building. Admission $2.00, Tables $10.00. Registration and setup is 8am-9am. Doors open from 9-4. Contacts are Lee Overholt 303-428-3032, or Warren Janssen 303-366-3077. cjwings@msn.com.
